Your trials are personal. Here is how we handle information across the picc’d website, launch list and app.
Who we are
picc’d is an Australian personal tracking app.
For privacy questions, requests or concerns, contact us at hello@piccd.app.
Website, launch list and demo
When you join the launch list, we store your email address, signup time and a record of your consent to receive picc’d launch updates. Joining is optional and does not create an app account. We use this list to tell you about launch and access to picc’d.
You can ask to leave the list or have your signup deleted by emailing hello@piccd.app. When we send launch emails, they will include an unsubscribe option. We retain launch signups while needed for these updates, unless you ask us to remove them or we no longer need the list.
The website and launch list use OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare hosting and database infrastructure. Our email delivery provider is Resend. Hosting providers process technical request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the website. The signup endpoint uses an hourly hash derived from the requesting IP address for abuse prevention; it does not write the raw IP address to our launch-list database.
The interactive website demo uses fictional sample data. Changes made within the demo are held in memory and reset when the demo reloads. The demo does not connect to your picc’d account. Please do not enter private or sensitive information into it. The separate launch signup form does store the email address you submit.
We do not add advertising trackers or analytics cookies to this launch site. Hosting and security providers may process technical information needed to operate their services. Some providers may process or store information outside Australia.
Information we collect
When you create an account, we collect the information needed to provide and maintain your account, including your email address.
You may also choose to provide a first name, age range and Australian state or territory. We deliberately keep profile information minimal and do not ask for your full name, date of birth or exact location as part of your picc’d profile.
When you use picc’d, we store information you choose to add about your trials, including the things you are trying, trial dates, check-ins, ratings, notes, reminders, extensions and your Picc’d or Pitt’d decisions.
When you search for a product, we process the search terms needed to return relevant product information. Product information may include a product name, brand, image and source information supplied by third-party search or product data services.
Your photos
Progress photos are different from the other information in your account. Photos you add to a trial or check-in are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to picc’d servers.
Because those photos remain on your device, they may be lost if the app is removed, the device is lost or changed, or local app data is otherwise removed. picc’d cannot recover a photo that was never uploaded to us.
We may record that a check-in included a photo, but not the photo itself.
How we use your information
We use your information to operate picc’d, maintain your account, save and display your trials, provide the features you choose to use, respond to support requests, protect the service and improve how picc’d works.
We may use pseudonymous information about how trials and app features are used to understand and improve the product. Our internal behavioural data is separated from direct account identity using a pseudonymous identifier.
Raw private notes and progress photos are not copied into our behavioural analytics.
We do not sell your personal information.
Reminders and notifications
If you choose to set reminders, picc’d uses notifications on your device to deliver them. You control whether you create reminders and can change or turn them off.
Your device operating system may also provide controls for app notifications.
Service providers
We use trusted technology providers to operate picc’d. This includes Supabase for services such as authentication and database infrastructure, Expo for app development and delivery infrastructure, and Apple where you use picc’d on an Apple device or through Apple distribution services.
Product searches are sent through picc’d infrastructure to a third-party product search provider so that relevant product information can be returned. We currently use SearchAPI for this purpose.
These providers may process technical or account information on our behalf in accordance with their own terms, privacy practices and our arrangements with them. Some processing or storage may occur outside Australia.
When we may disclose information
We may disclose information to service providers where reasonably necessary to operate picc’d, or where disclosure is required or authorised by law.
If the business operating picc’d is reorganised, sold or transferred, information associated with the service may form part of that transaction, subject to applicable privacy obligations.
We do not disclose your personal information to third parties for their own advertising or marketing.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect information held by picc’d from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No electronic service can guarantee absolute security.
We retain account and app information for as long as reasonably needed to provide picc’d, meet legitimate operational requirements and comply with applicable legal obligations. Different types of information may be retained for different periods.
Pseudonymous or aggregated information that no longer directly identifies you may be retained for product analysis and improvement where permitted by law.
Access, correction and deletion
You can update certain profile information from within picc’d. You may also contact us at hello@piccd.app if you want to ask what personal information we hold about you or request a correction.
If you delete your picc’d account, we permanently delete the personal account information and trial data associated with it, including your trials, check-ins, notes, reminders, extensions and Picc’d or Pitt’d decisions.
We believe your personal trial history is yours. Once your account is deleted, that history is not kept so that it can be restored if you reinstall picc’d or create another account.
Progress photos are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to picc’d’s servers. When you delete your account through the app, photos stored by picc’d on that device are also removed.
We may retain information where required by law, and we may retain aggregated or appropriately de-identified information that no longer identifies you. This can include pseudonymous behavioural information used to understand and improve how picc’d is used. It does not include your name, email address, raw notes or progress photos.
Privacy questions and complaints
If you have a question, request or concern about how we handle your information, contact hello@piccd.app. We will take reasonable steps to consider and respond to privacy concerns.
Depending on the circumstances and the privacy laws that apply to us, you may also have rights to make a complaint to an applicable privacy regulator.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as picc’d develops, our practices change or legal requirements change. When we do, we will update the date shown on this policy and, where appropriate, take reasonable steps to tell users about significant changes.
